How does the Strategic Risk Matrix Work?

This helps you effectively manage strategic risks across your premises and can help to easily identify high risk concerns and monitor the impact of your control measures.

The matrix plots the residual risk scores for your risk records, giving you an overall picture of the levels of risk in your organisation.

Any risk record with an overdue review will revert to its potential impact risk score and you should plan to re-assess the effectiveness of your current mitigations as soon as possible. Overdue records will be indicated on the risk matrix by a red triangle in the cell containing the assessment.

The higher the risk score, the greater the potential impact of the assessed risk. You should be aiming to minimise risk where possible to protect your business from harm by the application of appropriate mitigations such as provision of training.
